John Geisen Joins Colliers As Executive VP

Colliers International South Florida is pleased to announce that John Geisen has joined the company as Executive Vice President based out of the Colliers International Palm Beach office at 224 Datura Street in West Palm Beach.

Geisen is a past president of both the South Florida and Florida statewide chapters of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and served on NAIOP’s national board.

“John is a respected leader and deal maker,” saysStephen Nostrand, CEO of Colliers International South Florida. “His depth of knowledge and the relationships that he has nurtured say so much about his reputation. When John and I worked together at Flagler, he was my mentor and now we have the incredible opportunity to have him as part of our growing Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie county business. Previously, Geisen was president of the brokerage division of Flagler Development Group, responsible for the leasing and management of 23 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space throughout Florida. Previously he was Senior Vice President/Senior Managing Director withCBRE. During his 20 years with that firm, he expanded their offices in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties and was responsible for overseeing activities in the tri-county market.

Jupiter/Juno Tops South Florida Office Market, West Palm Turning Corner

West Palm Beach struggled last quarter but has made the turn showing positive absorption, the majority of which was in the suburban markets, according to a report by KRES Commercial.

Palm Beach Gardens/North Palm Beach made huge strides, leasing over 100,000 square feet year to date and absorbing over 35, 000 square feet.

The Jupiter/Juno Beach market, however, continues to make positive strides, becoming the healthiest office submarket in South Florida. Net absorption was another 1% for the quarter, bringing the total vacancy rates down to 6%, with true absorption numbers equal to the larger Palm Beach Gardens market at 31,000 square feet, year to date.

KRES Commercial Joins Forces With Global Real Estate Resources

Global Real Estate Resources is a boutique commercial real estate brokerage founded by Meriel “Honey” Bryan, the firm’s President and CEO.

Bryan is a native of Palm Beach County with a lifelong career in commercial real estate and financing. Ms. Bryan is active in numerous professional organizations such as the National Network of Commercial Real Estate Women (NNCREW) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). She currently serves on the Planning and Zoning Appeals Board for the City of Palm Beach Gardens  is also a board member of the Foundation for Living Arts.

North Palm Beach Office Building Trades For $5.2 Million

Tom Burst, Director of Sales and Leasing with KRES Commercial, has completed a transaction for the purchase of a 50,000 SF office building, located at 701 US Highway One in North Palm Beach, for $5.2 million.

The purchaser, Document Storage Systems, Inc. (DSS, Inc.), represented by Burst, is a Health Information Technologies, software development and systems integration company.  DSS, Inc. will occupy a total of 30,000 square feet.

This transaction has made a significant impact on the North Palm Beach submarket, representing roughly 8% of the vacant space available. The overall vacancy rate in North Palm Beach will decrease from 30% to 22%, making it a real game-changer for this market.

This purchase is in addition to the 20,000 SF building DSS, Inc. already owns and utilizes as their headquarters in Juno Beach. Tom Burst also represented DSS, Inc. in the purchase of their Juno Beach headquarters 9 years ago.

Geisen & Burst Join Forces

The Keyes Company is announcing a merger with Burst Commercial Real Estate Services, Inc., in order to form a new entity specializing in commercial real estate.

John Geisen, Executive Vice President, will direct the new company, KRES Commercial, a subsidiary of The Keyes Company.  Mr. Geisen was formerly associated with CB Richard Ellis and Codina / Flagler Real Estate Services. According to Mr. Geisen, “We feel the merger with Burst Commercial demonstrates our commitment to the commercial real estate market, and will help expand our presence in South Florida.”

Burst Commercial Real Estate Services was founded by Tom Burst in 1996, and has been a strong influence in the commercial real estate market ever since. Burst has been active in commercial real estate since 1986 when he first worked with Geisen at CBRE. According to Mr. Geisen, “It seems very natural that Tom and I would reunite after having worked together more than 20 years ago.” Burst, who will serve as Director of Properties at KRES Commercial, commented “I like the idea of putting the old team back together; it will be fun.”
